Welcome to Crown Woods School
May
I take this opportunity to welcome you to Crown
Woods School,
which is a large mixed comprehensive on a very pleasant green field
site.
Our pastoral structure allows us to organise and group students more
discreetly in order to ensure that no one individual feels lost in
the school. Indeed, it is our prime concern to ensure that every student
feels an integral part of this school where her/his individual gifts
and talents are recognised and developed.
Students are grouped by ability throughout the school.
This provides the maximum opportunity for teachers to focus
on the student’s individual needs in order to ensure progress for
all. The express stream caters for those students who are gifted and
talented right across the curriculum. We
offer a broad, comprehensive curriculum in our 6th Form
which is located in a newly remodelled and separate building on the
site. |
 |
Our school day allows us to
work with focus and pace and to provide a comprehensive programme of extra
curricular activities (approximately 100 extra lessons each week) to enrich
and extend the educational opportunities at the school.
Crown
Woods is at an exciting phase in its development with a clear focus on
raising standards in an ordered and disciplined environment. It
is also a school that encourages creativity and independence. It is our
clear objective to contribute significantly to the development of independently
thinking, clear minded, responsible members of society who have the qualifications
to take whatever opportunities arise. Our
objectives will be further enhanced by the re-building of the school over
the next three years. The
school will provide state of the art, cutting edge facilities supported
by the most advanced technology and focussed on providing an outstanding
experience for all students.
Yours
sincerely
M
