Applying to the School
Admissions Procedures and Policy
There are 270 places available in each year group. Entry is controlled by the London Borough of Greenwich. If your child attends a Greenwich school their headteacher will have explained the procedure and documentation to you. Parents wishing to obtain a place in Crown Woods School from outside the borough should contact the London Borough of Greenwich Education Admission Section (Tel: 0208 854 8888 ext 8043 and ask for Admissions).
Year 6/7 Transition
We aim to ensure that all Year 6 students have a smooth, enjoyable start to their secondary school. We do this in a number of ways:
• Student and family have a one to one meeting with a senior member of staff prior to starting
• All Year 6 students have an induction “taster day”.
• We have joint curriculum projects for example the CSI Science Project (pictured).
• Joint Year 6/7 sailing and canoeing trips (pictured).
Student Attendance
We are committed to ensuring that attendance policies, procedures and initiatives are rigorously implemented throughout the academic year. We have School Attendance Officers who contact parents/carers of students who are absent and Year Support Officers who work closely with students, parents/carers and staff in this area. We are committed to ensuring high levels of attendance for all and reward students across all year groups with excellent attendance.
