ICT
Every Tuesday 6.30pm - 8.30pm

Beginners
Don't be afraid! Come and join others who are as nervous as
you. You'll be amazed how quickly you are logging on with confidence.  A very friendly and supportive way to start surfing!

Improvers
Get creative and get the most oout of your computer! Learn how to put a Powerpoint presentation together.

Intermediate
For those with a little more experience. Learn the advanced features of Word & Excel, with an introdution to internet and email.

Register to join these classes before 31st March 2010. Places go very quickly and are limited.

Basic Plumbing and DIY
Every Wednesday 4pm - 6pm

The course provides a basic knowledge of plumbing and the requiremnets needed for health and safety in this industry. Contains various skills related to maintaining your home, including basic use of tools, home improvements, decorating etc.

A minimum of 10 learners required to offer this class

Saturday Family Cooking Club
Every Saturday 10am - 12pm

Learn to cook something new each week! Please bring a container to take your finished items home.
A maximum of 10 children with parents/carers can join this club

Cost: £1 contribution towards cost of ingredients

Africian Drumming
Every Tuesday 6.30pm - 8.30pm

Go 'Bonkerz' in this popular class! Djembe drums are provided but you may bring your own if you wish.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Skills for Work
Every Tuesday 6.30pm - 6pm at Crown Woods School
Every Thursday 4pm - 6pm at Alderwood Childrens Centre - Creche available

If you need ICT skills, we recommend you attend the beginners ICT course before joining this course, however this is not essential.

This course lasts for 10 weeks - 2 hours per week.

You will not be formally assessed, but you will participate in a range of practical, skill building activities, and will produce on completion a CV, Covering letter, Completed application form and an action plan for personal development.

Overall aims:
• Building upon existing life skills and experiences in order to participate more fully as members of local communities.

• Confidence building/self development

• Expanding awareness of current trends in the market place/what’s on offer/how to apply.

• Assertiveness training.

• Interview skills

• Communication skills

• We hope to offer the opportunity to experience real life work situations through work shadowing. Sessions will be delivered within a welcoming, informal and relaxed environment, which also provides the opportunity to socialise with others.
