Dear Parents/Carers,
I am delighted to welcome you to Crown Woods College, a Specialist Humanities College. The College is an innovative and radical response to the needs of the 21st century. It is a £50million state of the art school and community learning facility that will ensure every student will realize their full potential.
The College is built on the principals of “human scale education”; a 9 form entry College divided into three 11-16 Schools and a Post 16 School each accommodating 450 students. On entry your child will be in one of three small schools and will benefit from both the positive relationships flowing from a small school and access to a broad balanced and highly personalized curriculum.
The quality of our service was recognised by Ofsted in December 2009 when they judged that the School was ‘good’ overall and ‘outstanding’ in the Care, Guidance and Support that we provide. However we have the potential to do even better and we shall continue to strive for excellence in all our work in an environment that is nurturing and caring where every individual is known, can contribute and feels an integral part of our community.

Dear Parents/Carers
It gives me great pleasure to share with you some of the experiences Crown Woods College has to offer young people and their parents and carers as they consider the next steps in their education.
My association with the school goes back as far as 1969 when I started as a Year 7 pupil. My children were also educated here and therefore I am able to relate to the enormous importance of the decision you are contemplating for your child.
Crown Woods College provides an exciting opportunity for your children and indeed yourselves to take advantage of the unique combination of a small school setting with a broad curriculum meeting the individual needs of each pupil. Our small schools will allow us to be more dynamic and responsive to individual needs. The professional and dedicated approach by all the staff at the school and the high standards of leadership within the school underpin everything that goes on each day. The care, guidance and support that we provide for all our students is second to none and we are confident that the significant improvement in exam results will continue.
